After Serena’s parent’s divorce, she grew up with her two siblings, including a brother, Arthur Goodhart Altschul Jr., and a sister, Emily Altschul in their mother’s guidance. She also has three step-brothers, Charles Altschul, Stephen Altschul, and Whitney Sudler-Smith from her father’s previous marital relationships.

Serena is a graduate of Millbrook High School, a public school in Raleigh, North Carolina. Furthermore, she enrolled at Scripps College based in Claremont, California, where she studied English literature but dropped out because of her passion for becoming a journalist.
