Jamie Wachtel Introduction

Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman, the charismatic Scott Weiland left the world four years ago, but his music and his legacy lives on. One such person that survives the memory of him is his third and final wife, Jamie Watchel, who was one of the last people to hear from the singer. She is also a photographer, and an ex-model.

Losing a loved one is hard, but it is even harder when all the things they have left behind comes back to haunt you, which is everything. So, today we are going to take a look at the life of the person whom Scott was married to before he died.

Born in Canton, Ohio, to James and Karel Wachtel, she shared a home with two other siblings, both of whom were her brothers. Jaime’s interest in photography developed from a tender age of 12, when she was gifted a camera by her parents. But before she turned her childhood passion into her hobby, she also leaned towards being on the other side of the camera.

At the age of 16, she moved to Los Angeles. She had signed a professional modeling contract, and her career started at a very young age. Being a true art lover, Jamie is into painting, photography, and all things related. Her paintings were up for sale in a gallery, a few years back.

Interstate Love

Jamie met Scott Weiland back in 2011, when he was filming a music video for the song “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” from the album “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.” Anyone who knows Scott knows that he was never on the heavy side, and holiday dinners had taken a toll on him, so when she suggested him to try and tuck his belly while taking photographs of him, they ended up having a laugh, which ended up in Jamie giving Scott a drive back home.

And then they were engaged, a year later in November, which was soon followed by their wedding on the 22nd of June, 2013. It was a very civil ceremony, attended by close friends and family only, at the late singer’s residence in Los Angeles. They loved and respected each other and had children of their own from different marriages, but they never allowed it to come between them. Scott said that she was the best thing that had happened to him in a long time, in an interview after the news of their engagement broke.

The Tragedy of Scott Weiland

Before his surprising but inevitable death due to drug use, Scott had sent a text message to Jamie that said something along the lines of “I love my beautiful wife. Thank you for being the best part of my life.”

After finally seeing the text, Jamie had called the band manager of The Wildabouts and told him to check in on Scott, which was when one of the members found out that Scott had already passed away.

Leaving is the Hardest Thing to Do

Jamie has been trying to move on form the tragic death of Scott. She tried selling the wedding ring that Scott gave her, a few years back in an auction on Ebay, so that it could make someone else happy. She felt that it reminded her of him all the time.

But despite all her efforts, she still uploads pictures of her and him, which show us how happy they were, when they were together. Her social media posts suggest that she’s currently single and not in any form of a relationship, despite all the time that has passed.

Net Worth Around $1.5 million

Apparently, Scott Weiland’s second wife became the trustee of the Weiland estate because her and Scott had two children together. When Jamie filed for the remaining sum off the prenuptial agreement that her and Scott had signed before marriage, she got denied by the court and Mary Forsberg.

In this current day, her net worth can be assumed to be that of a normal person, but according to various sources, meticulous calculations, and analysis, it can be assumed that Scott Weiland’s net worth at the time of his death was around $1.5 million, which reduced to less than $1 million later due to unpaid taxes.
