Georgina Campbell originally wanted to be a flight attendant because she had never been on a plane before, and the idea of it fascinated her.

Now, after almost 30 film and television appearances later, it suffices to say that the actress is glad that things turned out the way they did.

The 27-years-old, Georgina is the first actress of black heritage to win the 2015 Best Actress award at the British Academy Television Awards for her work in Murdered by My Boyfriend. In 2019, Campbell appeared as Adele Starminister in the fantasy drama tv series, ‘His Dark Materials.’

Georgina’s Family Background 

Georgina Alice Campbell was born in Maidstone, Kent, England, on June 12, 1992. She shared a home with two sisters, Sarah and Ellie.

Her father is a police officer who immigrated from Jamaica, and her mother works as a health and social care teacher. Similarly, her stepfather was a bookbinder.

Georgina attended and graduated from Royal Holloway University in 2014 with a degree in film studies.

Career

Despite being involved in school plays, the Kryptonstar didn’t dream of becoming an actress during her early teenage years.

But one fateful day in 2009 while walking the streets of London, Director Sarah Walker caught her eye and suggested her audition for Freak, a MySpace drama.

After her first appearance, the snowball started rolling, and the actress appeared in nine TV series before her first movie appearance in the TV movie about domestic abuse Murdered By My Boyfriend, which won her one of the most prestigious awards in British cinema.

After her prestigious award win, the actress appeared in more than two dozen movies and TV shows. King Arthur: Legend of the Swordis the only feature on the list. Other highlights of her career include starring in Kryptonas Lyta-Zod and an appearance in HBO’s Black Mirror. 

Georgina Campbell’s Relationships

Despite never publicly admitting musician Tom Speight as her boyfriend, Georgina often posted pictures of them together on different occasions, adding fuel to the fires of gossip.

Apparently, they were in a relationship. Then one day, photos were deleted, and all went silent.

But these days, she is seen posting images of herself with an aspiring film director from Los Angeles Dawson Taylor. Recently she posted a picture with him on Instagram about six weeks ago, captioned “Lil Fella.”

Despite having had a filmography list longer than some actors’ whole careers combined, she hasn’t made major movie appearances all that much.
