Long was born as Cyntoia Denise Brown on 19th January 1988 at Fort Campbell in Kentucky, United States. Her biological mother was a drug addict and alcoholic, who placed her for adoption. Later, a married couple, Ellenette Brown and Thomas Brown adopted her from the childcare center.

Ambassador Speakers Bureau member, Cyntoia found guilty for first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, handgun possession, and criminal impersonation of the victim, Johnny Michael Allen. The judgment of Betty Adams Green, a judge at Metro Juvenile Court, sentenced her for life in prison without parole until the age of 67 on 14th November 2004.
According to the police statement, the 16-year-old, Cyntoia had a sexually-complicated relationship with Nashville-based real estate agent, Allen, 43-years-old, whom she met at Sonic Drive-In parking lot on 6th August 2004. At that time, Allen asked him “if she is hungry then he will take her to his home.”
After reaching Allen’s home late at night, he exploited her for sexual intercourse for only $150, but his family said that they were never involved in that situation. But, Jeff Burks, the lead prosecutor of the case found that “Allen used to pick up other girls from the starting to finish.”
When the duo had an encounter, Cyntoia picked her 0.40-caliber handgun and shot him down from the backside of the head. She then checked his pockets and stole $172 from his wallet, two fire arsenals, and took his truck to a Walmart parking lot. Furthermore, some police officers arrested her while she was with her friend, McGlothen at the Intown Suites.
When Brown was in prison at Tennessee Prison for Women with a tight security facility, she practiced the GED test for prisons and scored 656 in March 2005. She also earned a 4.0 GPA in Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts and Professional Studies in Organizational Leadership degrees from Lipscomb University in 2015 and 2019.
Cyntoia then acclaimed clemency from Tennessee governor, Bill Haslam for 15 years in the original sentence. Lastly, she was released from jail on 7th August 2019. As in the present situation, she is living the life of an ordinary woman with a happy marital life.
