Broadway star Cynthia Erivo caught public attention when she played the role of Celie in the musical with a book The Color Purple. Thirty-two years old British actress Cynthia is the recipient of several awards, including the 2017 Grammy Award. She has a versatile career with acting, singing, and songwriting skills. 

Known for her signature buzz-cut hair, which is often dyed blonde, Cynthia was born as Cynthia Onyedinmanasu Chinasaokwu Erivo on January 8, 1987, in Stockwell, London, to Nigerian parents. Her mother was a London based nurse.

As a childhood, she completed her schooling from La Retraite Roman Catholic Girls’ School. Later, she chose to pursue a degree in music psychology at the University of East London. But after just a year, she joined the training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

On valentines day of 2019, Cynthia expressed her love for Mario through her social media. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Cynthia said:

“He (Mario) chased me, then the last time, I was not with my ex anymore except this time he did not ask,” Erivo recalls. “He just walked up to me and gave me a kiss.”

Talking about her ex-boyfriend, Erivo’s lover, Mario is not involved in the entertainment industry. As per Cynthia, he asked her out on a date even though she was dating actor, Dean John at the time.
