Moreover, he worked as an analyst for a global financial firm, Lehman Brothers prior to work for General American Investors Company.
Altschul got his career-turning opportunity after Goldman Sachs selected him as a general limited partner from 1977 to 1999. He also served as a chair for General American Investors from 1961 to 1995.
More upon this, Altschul founded and led his wealth advisory firm, Overbook Management Corporation until 2002. After his death, his son, Arthur Goodhart Altschul, Sr. took over his business, handling his chairmanship at Overbook. So, he left a whopping net worth of $150 Million at the time of his demise.
The late investment banker, Arthur married four times in his whole life. He initially tied the knot with Stephanie Rosemary Wagner in 1956. Unfortunately, his first wife, Stephanie died in 1961 in a plane crash. Following Wagner’s demise, he took care of their two children, Stephen Altschul (born in 1957) and Charles Altschul (born in 1958) as a single dad.
A few years later, Altschul united as husband and wife with a botanist, Siri von Reis in a quiet ceremony in 1963. Altschul, further, exchanged the wedding vows with his third wife, Diana Landreth Childs. However, their marital union ended with a divorce settlement. After separation from marriage, they maintained an amicable relationship while showing respect towards each other.
Lastly, Arthur met his perfect match, Patricia Day, an American socialite, with whom he walked down the aisle in 1996. At this time, he realized that he would die on her arms because she was the only person who did not make a move to any misunderstandings. Nonetheless, Patricia took care of him and stayed with him before his peaceful demise on 17th March 2002.
